Most houses in the UK are suitable for Ellwood Electricals Photovoltaic systems. There are however some key points to keep in mind regarding suitability.

What Is The Angle Of Your Home?

When it comes to Solar PV, the direction your house faces plays a major role in the amount of sunlight it sees. In ideal situations our Solar Panels should be installed south facing. Although south facings panels are the ideal situation, we can install panels on either east or west roofs and they will still be very efficient.

Which Way Does You Roof Face?

The pitch of a roof can sometimes make a big difference to the amount of sunlight it receives. Ellwood Electrical can create bespoke systems to cater to most roof types, however it is recommended you request a free quotation by clicking below.

Is Your Roof Space Covered By Shade?

Shading from items such as chimneys, trees and other buildings can cause problems with solar panels. If the sunlight is blocked this could have a negative impact on the amount of direct sunlight the solar panels receive. As above this can only really be resolved by speaking with a memeber of our trained team of PV installers.

Do I Need Planning Permission?

In most cases planning permission for domestic home owners is not required, however if your home is a listed building or in a conservation area planning permission will be required.
